1: We never pretended to be camping the gnoll. We openly admitted that we engaged the gnoll at spawn because it was the only legal move we had to try and get a chance at Lodi. This was the first thing said to Sirken from BG.

(You had not killed the gnoll before, therefore it was an open camp as far as camp rules are concerned)

2: We engaged the gnoll first, I have the logs of the encounter and of our conversation with Sirken as proof. It doesn't matter that we weren't there for the gnoll. We made a strategic decision based on what was available. You acknowledged to Sirken that you aren't allowed to charm an engaged mob. (You also gave 2 separate reasons at 2 separate times during our conversation with Sirken as to why you were stalling)

3: Called out in OOC that Charming an engaged mob is considered KS, you did not respond. I was left with only one recourse without risking our group getting a ban by interfering and that was to petition.

4: You weren't even in zone during spawn because we had someone there camping SF at spawn. So don't pull the camp the mob card.

5: You got outplayed. I'm sorry you feel wronged but it was a strategic maneuver, the same as a a leap frog. The game is meant to be competitive in times like this. We came in and saw a weakness in your strategy and we monopolized that weakness. From the very beginning we admitted that we engaged the gnoll to get a chance at Lodi as your shaman was seconds from death until you charmed (an engaged mob that was not going to be alive much longer) and the gnoll ran over to assist.

As said after the GM ruling, it was nothing personal and is a highly contested mob. Just as with any contested mob everyone wants to win. We did nothing wrong, even after you charmed our engaged mob we were told by leadership to stand down and not interfere. Next time a call goes out in OOC in regards to something you have just done, try responding and a GM won't have to be involved. We could have worked something out possibly.

It's a shame it came to that instead of you just admitting that you were outplayed and giving kudos on what was a smart move. I would have, but of course when I go to Lodi on my enchanter I charm the gnoll before spawn/engage because it's just that easy for someone to throw your strategy right out the window.

At the end of the day, it's a game. Don't get your feelings hurt over it. We felt that Sirken should have allowed you two a chance at Lodi without the gnoll and we would have accepted it if you two could have pulled it off. Hell, I would have applauded you both!

Incoming tldr, happy RNF everybody.

I was in the zone on my monk camping Stormfeather when I saw Lodi destroying all the gnolls via FTE messages. At the time there was nobody in zone other than a level 50-ish AG bard and a couple lower levels so I say in guild that Lodi's up and that I would camp over to Plush to come kill it.

By the time I finally got a port to IC 3-4 of my guildies were already there and this stuff had started so I had nothing to do with the gnoll engage or petition and all that. I was 100% clueless that there was anything even going on. Lodi was at 20% HP or something so I figured oh well AG got it and asked their SHM if they needed the map since my monk was still in zone and I need it on him and don't really care about any of the other loot.

So to be clear, I had no clue Sirken was even in the zone until after this happened:

"After staff despawns the nearly dead Lodizal, run to the spawn point when you see "Lodizal engages a sea walrus!", like, "OMG CHRISTMAS!" You friggin idiots..."

That was just me and only me that did that. Cuz I was confused why your guys' Lodi depopped so I went back to the spawn point and saw him just chilling on his island full HP decided to try for an FTE. Wasn't me trying to be cute, I was just ignorant that anything was going on and Sirken had the BG member that filed the petition locked in tells, so he couldn't respond to me when I was asking what was happening.

My take on the events that I learned all after the fact:

I guess my guildies made a conscious decision to kill the un-egaged Gnoll in order to increase the chances that the AG duo failing their kill. They never claimed to be camping him. It was just to prevent AG from using him to kill Lodi. They admitted all of this to the GM. So because of that, AG's enchanter basically got in trouble for stealing the Gnoll which lead to Sirken judging in BG's favor. Unfortunately Sirken went with the nuclear option and fully depopped Lodi so it was a lose/lose for everybody. Nobody won.

In hindsight given the option between what happened and just letting AG have the kill, we all agreed that we would have just let AG have the kill. We didn't expect Sirken's heavy hand to completely wipe the mob. I don't blame the guy who filed the petition cause it was a legitimate strategy to give us the best chance at getting him, but at the same time I'd be mad if I were the AG duo. I don't know if there was an attempt to even talk it out before the petition/Sirken was involved, but if there's any fault there, it's that. BG/AG have been competing on a few different mobs the last couple weeks and we've always gone out of our way to keep it above board, friendly competition.

So sorry you guys lost Lodi. I've got both my shm and monk in IC and I'm going to be trying to get Lodi over the next couple days for the map piece (since I think Sirken messing with the Lodi repop actually popped Stormfeather for me and I got him after I logged back to my monk!). If you guys want to team up with ME even if not all of BG I'm willing to torpor or DPS to help with the kill.

New Lodizal rules verified and compiled by me:
Start of window everyone /random 1000. Winner gets to engage Lodizal. Only someone needing the map piece can random otherwise you'll just have people bringing their whole guild to roll for one person. It would be nice if people who didn't win also helped out. If you clickfest this you will be petitioned good luck everyone.
