Disney of Florida is also up in arms over this as they employ LGBT people, the bill is about sex ed to extreme minors but this caused them alarm. Walt might be rolling in his grave right now but we all know the animators used to draw dicks in their cartoons. There was a mini documentary about it a long time ago.

I don’t understand why gay people get a pass. Had this been a middle aged straight man teacher wanting to talk about his sexuality and what he’s attracted to with his 8yr old girl students, people would be in an uproar

I’d like to ask why they feel it is their job as an educator to talk to kids about their personal sexuality, and how that fits into their curriculum. Also, since it is sounds like counseling, what credentials they have to be able to counsel students about the student’s sexuality and sexual interests

Its a direct quote from an interview the teacher did on MSNBC. Not a sensationalized headline.

This teacher is doing classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity to form important bonds with 6 year olds who are just trying to stack blocks and make it through the alphabet.

Its their job to normalize a classroom. Like if tommys mommy is getting married to another woman, and this comes up in class, the teacher can inform this class that this is LEGAL and thus normal. Or at an open house, if a same sex couple shows up and it comes up, student asks first day in class "why did timmy have two dads?" then the teacher can explain that two men are allowed to get married in america. You're allowed to like the same sex, boy or girl or anyone else.

Teachers are also allowed to have personal items, like pictures of their family. You think a pic of a same sex couple on a desk wont bring up questions from curious ass kids?

Thats pretty much it.

Republicans WANT to groom kids to be racist, sexist, and dumb as fuck. They HATE the idea of teaching kids to be fair to one another even if they like the same sex. Its disgusts them to no end.

They are just mad the teacher could teach them to be fair before they get a chance to teach them to be hateful.
