There is an implicit debate in this thread... the question is whether guides are predictable in following some rules or if their interpretations significantly vary.

The BDA side says they are consistent and this was just an appropriate application of some complex rules. I think Trolololo has convinced me here.. seems like Nixxar presented a misleading selection of facts but omitted the key fact that the puppets were up while his pal was relogging.

My understanding of the rules is you're in the clear maintaining your camp regardless of where you move within the zone or corpsing items.etc as long as you're back and ready to engage when the mob spawns.

The reason Nixxar was ruled against is because Puppets spawned and he didn't have a force ready to kill them and we did. Ragefire is a special case because its a triggered raid target which grants you a 20 minute window to engage after triggering.

To your own words and gms words, they should of had a 20 minute window to attack the mobs because its a "triggered raid target" The dude was literally back within a minute and a half.

Look, I'm all about GMs/Guides using their judgment to settle disputes, obviously "maintain presence" needs a better definition. What I'm saying is, when there is a rule that says don't camp out, when you camp out you run the risk of another group coming in and the GM/Guide siding with them.

Going LD is not camping, so I think in your LD situation you'd have a better argument, especially if staff can see that.

I also said, previously, that I thought Nixxar had a pretty good argument for the camp being his despite the PNP being worded inelegantly. But I really don't feel sorry for either of these folks because they both intentionally trained each other.

I don't think you quite understand, a /exit leaves up an LD message on your name. Lots of people have chars on multiple accounts so they normally /exit to switch characters. This guy just has chars on one account he was switching between. Hey, he could of logged back in as another guildie who is there to help kill puppets.

1. rule lawyering and currying favor with the judges

2. appealing to the masses, winning reputation from the masses

#1 gets you the camp wins, what does #2 get you? that seems to be what nixxar is going for. maybe he's playing the long game of getting people to desist from challenging his camps because they dont want to be called cunts
