Default New the game, new to community, ready to play!

Hail, forum-goer! As the title suggests, I am a complete newbie when it comes to Norrath and the the proper way to survive in it. I did play a little on the progression servers last month to cut teeth and get a general feeling of how Everquest plays. It was a game that as a child always intrigued me, and as an adult still held my curiosity. So I gave it a go, and man, I can see why after all these years people still enjoy it.

Great game, old-school graphics that I love, and an awesome community which is really my favorite part. A friend of mine suggested I try Project 1999 instead of the live servers though. Free, original feel, and in his opinion, a much better lot of players to engage with.

He was right!

So after a few days of driving off monsters from Freeport's doorstep and a decision to keep adventuring, I thought I'd come here and say hello and give a big thanks to the people who've helped/tolerated me so far!

I'm not sure what adventures await me, but I do know I can't press on alone. I'll be popping by the guild forums next to say hello and see if I can't find a guild.

Oh, btw, IGN is Rezzn (Cleric 5). Feel free to shoot me a /tell or whatever.

Happy hunting!

Great first class to play. You'll always be wanted in a group and you aren't very gear dependent.

One thing I can't recommend enough is putting folks you group with on your friends list (especially tanks, shammies, enchanters) when you mesh with them. This makes it so much easier to start up your own groups.

You can also have some fun in a duo with an enchanter. You will both compliment each other well.

That's sort of why I went with Clerics. I generally like the support/heal roles in a group anyways, and I heard that Clerics were pretty much the champs of heals. Hopefully I won't make a fool of myself in the future.

Also, thanks for that tip! I'll start making a habit it of it once I get to grouping.
