Magician is good if you want to have the option of soloing.
Necromancer is good if all you want to do is solo. If you want to group, Cleric and Shaman are pretty easy to pick up. The Shaman can solo fairly okay as well, if you need to. | ||

Druids make for good easy starter class. You can solo well and fit into groups well as nuker, healer/buffer, or a combination of the two.

You mentioned in your other thread that you've played EQ before at least. The classes aren't functionally different in Classic than they are in today's Live game. The major differences will be everything is a bit tougher because gear and plat are harder to come by.
(Like my 15 Enchanter is wearing mostly Small Cloth armor still, something that's even vendor trash at level 1 on Live). | ||

A caster like a mag or necro can get by easier without twink gear..
