Default Re: GINA

Did a search on GINA in here and it seems there is a lot of talk about using it on blue. I want to use it but its clearly a 3rd party add-on. How is this program not a violation..or is it?

Was wondering cause the policy is kinda vague as it states any program that "interacts with the Titanium client". Question being is reading the file an interaction

From Project 1999 Guidebook:
Quote:
5. You may not use third-party programs on Project 1999.

The use of any third-party programs on Project 1999, including but not limited to, Macroquest/Macroquest2(MQ/MQ2), ShowEQ(SEQ), or any other program that interacts with the Everquest Titanium Client, is strictly prohibited. Use of any third-party programs will be detected and will result in the permanent banning of your account(s). No exceptions will be made, and once a ban has been enacted for violation of this rule it will not be reversed.

This is not limited to programmable keyboards or other input devices that creates multiple inputs for a single keystroke or automated task.

Wineq2 by Lavishsoft is the exception to this rule. In addition, any program that strictly reads log files is acceptable.

No, its fine. Interaction would be more like clicking UI buttons for you. As he said only reading logs is not a problem, you're fine.

does it strictly read the log files though? If you want to get into semantics if it makes a sound when specific texts go off, it isn't just reading the log files.

I also love how people dump on WoW raiders for having no skill because they use addons but lose their shit when someone's macro doesnt trigger your precious gina.

The only interaction with eq is that it reads log file.
No screen read, no button press, nothing forbidden.

GINA only reads your log file. Everything that Gina does, other than reading log files. Is completely outside and independent of your EQ game files.
