* Go to eq folder (the one with Launch Titanium.bat in it)
* Find, or search, for eqgame.exe in the same folder
* Right-click on eqgame.exe and choose Properties
* Click Compatibility tab
* Check 'Run this program in compatibility mode for', and choose Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
* Click Apply button, then OK etc
* Run game using Launch Titanium.bat

Works for me (Win 10 with ssd)
created new UI files (lost friendslist, changed my resolution, etc.)

but i cant change the resolution back with out crashing and then it does not save
is there like a ui file i need to do something with?

I have had this issue for as long as I can remember. Read through this and check marked the compatibility version for eqgame.exe to Windows XP (Service Pack 3).

Can confirm that this does work. I have yet to crash while camping now. It did wipe out my friends list and UI/hotkey settings like it was my first time logging into the characters. The one slight complaint that I have is that now the graphics seem a bit less fluid, tiny bit of choppiness. Other than that, everything works great!!
Yes I also confirm this works. Have been fighting with EQ graphics quality since 2001. Switching back to service pack 3 reduced zoning time and seems to have eliminated crashing, however the graphics are less fluid as stated. It is annoying especially when in first person view and then particularly when turning around. It didnt wipe out friends list for me or hotkeys, but the first time I logged back on none of my toons were loaded. I rebooted and they were back, hump.

Its too bad we have to switch back. EQ graphics on Windows 10 was the best I ever experienced.

Make sure that your in-game resolution is the same as your desktop resolution, saved me a few problems. The comparability thing and the resolution change seems to have cured this for me.

Default Win 10

Windows 10 - windowed mode with WinEQ 2.15 Lite:

Right click on WinEQ2.exe shortcut -> compatibility tab -> compatibility mode -> Windows 7

Works like a charm.

Change resolution manually in eqclient.ini (EverQuest folder) under VideoMode section.
Use Notepad++, save with ctrl+s, close.

Enjoy

Default No XP mode

I don't know if they have changed it over the years being that this post is from 8 years ago, but when I go in to properties I do not see anything for XP mode. I believe I did this years ago and it worked but since reinstalling on new computer I no longer have that option. Is there any other fixes for this problem

I crash on camp about 75% of the time on Green server but never have an issue on Blue or Red. Any ideas if the same fix will resolve for Green only crashes?
