Default Disappearing Buttons

I'm running the stock standard UI and any buttons I add to my bar keep disappearing. I'm talking like making a Tracking button or Foraging. I'll make the button and add it to my bar then when I zone the buttons are gone and I have to re-add them. Whats worse is if I log I have to re-create the buttons and then add them as well. I've tried running the game as an admin and even completely re-installing the game to no avail.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Theres a bug with the hotbuttons that requires a patch to fix

Hotbuttons 1-6 will save

Hotbuttons 7-10 will reset if you log/zone until the fix is available

The hotbuttons aren't saving on page 1 for me though.

Did you put the Everquest folder in a protected directory such as Program Files?

If so you can try moving it to the C drive so its something like C:\Everquest

It's not the pages but the the number 7-10 buttons on every page will disappear when zoning/logging. If your 1-6 buttons on every page are staying, that's normal for now. If ALL of your buttons are disappearing then that is another problem.

I think it might have something to do with how I crash almost every time I try to camp to character select. The odd part about it is that I'll crash, click the button to confirm it, reopen the game, and then I'm told that my character is still logged in. Which is weird because I was logging out when it happened.

So maybe when I'm crashing on log out its deleting the button changes as they're the only thing that really gets changed. As far as zoning dropping the buttons is concerned I would think tracking down what's causing that file to no save would also lead to a fix on the camp to character select crash?

Next patch that requires us to download and patch our files will fix this. (according to sources)

Most common fix is to set eqgame.exe compatibility mode to Windows XP SP2 or SP3

This should stop the crashing when trying to camp out
