This is why the snopes article is bullshit, IF YOU READ IT.

YET THEY SAY FALSE that prop 47 had any affect on it. THIS is why people dont listen to each other on the internet, because they site things that directly contradict what the thing they site claims. What an absolute garbage website snopes has become (or maybe always was?)

Many parts of California are literal paradise, similar to the nice areas in other states, but in fucking California.
Where I grew up it was 1.5 hours east to Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevadas, 1.5 hours west to the beach and the bay area, 3-4 hours south to Yosemite/Giant Sequoias/King's Canyon, 3-4 hours north to climb a literal 14,000 mountain peak covered in glaciers. No crime, everything was new, everything was nice. I'll say it again, everywhere I've been since then has been a shithole in comparison. You non-California people don't know what it's like. I imagine it makes you feel better to think California is flaming wreckage and people can't get out fast enough, when in reality, most people are simply cashing in on their ridiculous equity. Me getting my doctorate in South Carolina was like those people who live in Costa Rica for a time and their money goes miles. It's just so fucking cheap, because nobody here has any money and the area has no prosperity. My little bit of California money got me a degree and a house in the south. Can't wait to go back, 2 more years.

Lets not even notice the entire point of prop 47 was to reduce sentencing because there were too many people being arrested, so they just said, lets stop arresting them and that will not increase crime!

Lune you should have gotten your doctorate in version of the Carolinas that has the research triangle, not the one that has dirt road interstates and believes in the Bermuda triangle more than research.

The difference I have found between cal and other states is pretty simple:
In a bunch of states you can just leave your car abandoned on the side of the raod and it will stay there for like weeks or months. In California they will auction your car and fine you $1,000 before you can return with your gas canister. Now, this makes for a clean and beautiful state... yes... but on the other hand, it does put a lot of undue stress on the poors. And so, yeah, life in California, in general is a higher quality in the sense that the belagio is a better hotel than the flamingo... But can the poors stay at the Bellagio? No. So in other ways, it's kind of shitty and unfair.

But since you didn't like Snopes, how about an academic study that specifically looked into the question of whether Prop 47 caused an increase in crime? Quote:
