Try re-installing Everquest anywhere but the Program Files folder. When you re-install, try installing to c:\games instead. What happens is that Windows permissions stop you from overwriting files in the Program Files folder - so you can't make the correct changes to play on Project 1999.

If your confident in changing shortcuts you can just move (not copy) the EverQuest folder from the Program Files\Sony\blah blah folder to your root (c or d drive) and change the desktop shortcut to match.

Edit: Also, I'm assuming you are actually unzipping the zip files before putting them in the EQ folder right? (Your picture points to an EQChanges.zip file above the Doug model)

I've been able to get on fine and play up until today, I logged in and I'm getting the same you are missing client files error that jagdryan is getting =(

Has something changed since yesterday? My EQ directory is not in Program Files either. Is there any other steps I can take to troubleshoot this?

Thanks!

Just tried to play on my laptop (different computer) and get the same error =(

I have W7 - 64 bit, and Microsoft Security Essentials on both PCs if that helps...scanned the EQ directory and no threats found.
