Default Please fix undead/daytime spawns once engaged

Was killing a werewolf in SK today, just as I was going in for the final kill, it poofed in front of me. I was quite perplexed as to why and petitioned it.
Please fix this bug of undead spawns that have been engaged after daylight to prevent the 'poofing' issue.

How did this work on live?

If it was night time, and you were fighting a night only spawn, would it poof when day time arrived? Or would it persist till it had no aggro?

From what I recall, the mobs poofed like they normally would, engaged or not.
