Yes - accidentally hitting a guard or wisp with Chords has smoked many a newbie bard.

I had the same reaction. I don't remember them being there, either.

I remember them (in front of Felwithe), but they may have been rarer. On p99 I could remember exactly where one of them always pathed and lo and behold, it was right where I expected it to be.

Alas, if only I had remembered they were invulnerable to normal weapons before engaging one for the first time in years...whoops.
