Default High level toons farming for plat in lower level xp area

I know there are zones with guards that high level toons like to farm for plat. Sometimes they are farming NPC's that are 20 levels below their level. My question is, should a player be able to farm those mobs that give them no or very very very little xp, when a lower level player could be farming for both at the same time?

Should they? No. Should you expect them to leave? No.
Ideally they'd let you have some mobs or let you exp and you would trade buffs for some loot..... but this is not the normal scenario. Normally it's a fcfs and you can kick rocks. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

This is how EQ has always been. It's unfortunate when a high level is depriving low levels of exp and loot. More courteous players will recognize this and perhaps buff you and leave the mobs alone, but those are a dying breed.

most people are cool and will talk to you about it, they might not always do what you expect of them. most of the time there is just no communication when a problem is percieved.

Overall, the lower level people shouldn't be there because the higher level person can operate much more efficiently, so the net benefit to Norrath is greater.

Why wouldn't they be able to? Disallowing players to kill low level mobs over low level players killing them would not be classic. So long as everyone is following the rules.

Shit's Classic.

There is a zone called The Warrens you may like.
I understand where you are coming from I really do but you have to understand as well.

How do you know they were farming for plat and not quest items or junk for crafting? Plats are no good on low level mobs, but for certain drop items thats just part of the game. This aint wow, ya know?
