Default Server list often appears empty

A couple weeks ago, I installed P99 following the directions on Joe Leonard's youtube guide.

For the first couple hours after setting it up, each time I got to the server selection list it would just be empty so I couldn't play. After resetting things a few times (reinstall, reboots, change/flush DNS) eventually it worked once and I was able to play for a few hours.

After that, the same problem reappeared (empty server list) and I wasn't able to connect again. Today, it finally connected again. When I got to the character list, I discovered I needed to download the new patches from Apr. 7. I went and did that, relaunched EQ and again the server list is empty.

Is there anything else I could try to make the servers actually appear on the list?
