Regardless of the words people use to describe carbonated beverages, everyone should be treated with kindness and respect.

Is "pop" vs "soda" maybe an age thing? Both my mom and I grew up in Colorado, but she calls it pop and I call it soda.
Colorado? Littleton native here. Great state.

My mom grew up in Littleton and the surrounding areas for most of her lives!

I'm from the Springs, unfortunately.

Definitely a regional thing, most people in the south call it Coke, then you have to elaborate on what kind of "Coke" (soda) afterwards.
can I get a rootbeer coke?

Where I live now (NE Pennsylvania) they call it soda. I'm originally from SE Washington state, where they call it pop. I refuse to conform and still call it pop. I get teased about it sometimes but I couldn't care less. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I find it funny when people here laugh at me because they say shit like "how yous doin'".

My in-laws live near Pittsburgh and I think they say pop too. But over here on the east side of the state all I hear is soda.

Fizzy juice in Scotland. Although one of my English pal's pet hates is how people in Scotland call anything that isn't plain water, milk or booze "juice".

The best fizzy juice in the world is also made here.
