Default Does wifi fix the mysterious inexplicable zone crashing problem?

I'm done trying to get VPN to work looking for other options.

And if not wifi or VPN, is anything else that works?

It's usually caused by a routing issue with your ISP. These usually resolve themselves given enough time. Hence the temporary workaround of using a hotspot or VPN. Alternatively, switch ISPs if there's another one available in your area, but that's a bit arduous compared to using a VPN.

It's never resolved itself the entire time I've played here. The only thing I can do is not play between 2-3pm and 1-2 am. I still get booted outside that range but only maybe 1 in 10 instead of 5 in 10.

try to stabilize your wifi by using an app called wifi analyzer (hopefully the open source ones)
move about your home and figure out what channel your WiFi is best at so you have whole coverage
adjust your router wifi channel to reduce local connectivity issues
next is to do a route trace to multiple web sites and see if your isp is having issues
make a report if required

to answer your question wifi or ethernet in most cases is not a big difference
unless you need full duplex instead of half duplex
