Default New to red, some questions

I'm bored on blue and am about to give red a try. But I do have a question.

I read that "If a new player enters the zone, you must call Loot and Scoot so they are aware of your intentions." My question is, how the heck do I know when a new player enters the zone? Does /ooc automatically announce "NUTPICKER HAS ENTERED THE ZONE!"?

I just don't want to be too dumb when I first log in.

Thanks!

Most folks bind /who to a movement key so they are able to maintain zone awareness, it also helps to filter /who to another window.
