Question Battle Cleric and Enchanter duo

Dumb? Fun? Possible to "tank" as a cleric at 40+ since you have a slower?

The whole point of enchanter + cleric duo is that the pet tanks. Very powerful, if not the best duo.

Right, that's the normal way. I'm asking if it's viable to have the cleric tank since you've got a slower. I guess I can answer my own question by finding out how late into the game Shaman players can tank once they've slowed a mob.

Sure it's possible but why would you do something so dumb? Priests have shit combat tables and no double attack.

"Battle Cleric" is really only a viable thing up to about level 35. And that would be with a good amount of twinking. I did it with a Dwarf with full cultural, FBSS, Poison Wind Censer and a lot of +HP jewelry. It worked perfectly fine for low levels but past that point it was simply much more efficient to root+nuke undead if solo or just to group. By the mid 30s mob HP and damage starts increasing too much for your melee skills to keep up, even with high AC/HP, haste and a good weapon.

Might be viable if chanter has a rogue pet and cleric is well geared and mob is hit with a slow. Viable does not = efficient though. If your at a particular camp and waiting on respawns and both full mana I don’t see why the hell not if it’s fun!

Just do a warrior/monk + shaman duo instead.

There would have to be extenuating circumstances for this to be viable. Mostly a very tight undead dungeon crawl where pets would be a liability and you need to invis to undead and move from camp to camp. I highly doubt it would work in HS, but something trivial like lower guk for sure.

It's not efficient but it's certainly an easy way to progress. Also good for duo each on their third beer (my main reason I keep playing EQ)...

What’s fun but doesn’t happen often is multiple charmers in a single PuG. Did necro/ ench / shaman today in kaesora all lvl 35-39 was fun as hell.

There is already a “battle” cleric class: Paladin.
