Game Mechanics: EJ / TT issues

watching my lights blink on my HD and router it seems like an unnecessary amount of data is going back and forth but only on my toon that is logged in EJ.

Does EJ have "that much" graphic content that it requires that much information sharing? maybe the server is sending double or triple the amount that is actually required? dont know but this has been a continuing issue. I still randomly go ld upon zoning in to EJ and randomly desynic as well with a ping over 1K.

wonder what this could be. i play on a piece of shit 200 dollar e-machine and i dont lag in either of those zones.

i dont lag on my laptop either and that thing is a piece of shit too.

You probably need start a thread in Technical Discussion. This is not a server-side bug.

I think one fix for this is to set EQ or winEQ2 (I currently use winEQ2) to use only 1 core of a processor. Although EQplaynice is supposed to do this I found that when I set winEQ2 to use one core it fixed my issues in TT.

To do this (using windows 7):

1. Launch task manager while winEQ2 is up (ctrl+alt+del).

2. Under "Processes" find WinEQ2.exe.

3. Right click and go to "Set Affinity".

4. Select only one CPU.

5. Profit.

Hopefully this will work for other people!

Still no idea what's the cause, but it's only got worse. Used to be so it'd happen to me as I'd zone in, and could just relog until it wouldn't happen and could then do whatever in the zone. Now it's happening 100% of the time, I can count a couple seconds, use a clicky maybe, and then it's desync. Have to do like checkpoints of running from SoNH to the lake, camp, from lake to the the arcway to Seb ruins, camp, run to trak entrance, camp, click the orb to get in. Ping climbs to 7000+ in a matter of 10seconds every time now.

Haven't got this issue on any other server in this zone, so really don't know what's up with this.

Can we just throw a translocator in EJ or something so people can at least reach Sebilis? Pretty please?

yea whats bad is also u need the pained soul there for the VP key as well as the mobs just to get in seb for the seb key, lol....imagine trying to do either of those

i have same problem, once i log on into TT, that's it. 5k ping and cant do anything.

Im running win 7
eq titanium, no textures.

it started to happend after i clicked the shadows at display options, but i turned it off and nothing
