It is being reported that protection for dreamers is being offered for the term of 2 to 3 years, not automatic amnesty. Democrats are already signaling that they aren't going to go for that.

Trump could offer amnesty for dreamers in exchange for border wall funding and Democrats would still reject it.

Yeah, obviously Trump doesn't write legislation. But as you said, McConnell isn't even bothering with stuff that Trump says he isn't going to sign (i.e. something that doesn't have wall funding in it). So Trump IS (and its well within his rights to do so) offering things like that to see if the Democrats will bite.

Are you really saying no POTUS would offer terms like this to Congress in these situations? So they can then negotiate and put forth something that POTUS will sign? Did I really need to explain all this to you? Am I being trolled? Rick rolled? What is this inter web....
