Miscellaneous: tinkering at the higher levels.

I dunno if i just had the worst luck ever or some modifier ought to be changed...

...but, i just did 26 combines on footwarming boots (trivial 235 skill)

My current skill is 176, i have 253 wisdom.

I got 0 tinkering skill ups - zero!

Thats just seem unreasonably difficult to skill up, considering the significant amount of hours that went into farming for and making the subcombines. Speaking of which, making the subcombines i recieved 2 or 3 skill ups in smithing even though it was a lower trivial combine (small plate boots triv. 228) at a higher smithing skill (~190).

Just tough luck. All the trade skills are miserable at the higher levels. I did 80 combines of smithing and went from 188 to 190 with maxed stats.

I guess... maybe i was lucky with my other tradeskills.

It is my understanding that the closer your skill level is to the trivial, the higher your chance to getting a skill up. So, assuming 176 skill level, find something in the 180s then somethin in the 200s, etc.

there are no combines that has a trivial between 175 (rebreathers) and 207 on the cultural gnomen bracer.

Past 175 in any tradeskill, you should stop expecting 2-3 skill-ups per 20 combines. Past 200, expect something more along the lines of 1 skill-up per 40 combines if you're lucky.

It was easy enough with other tradeskills. And this bad luck cost me 7-8 hours farming and about 7k for 0 skillups. Thats worse than anything else i ve tried by a long margin.

only 26? Try going 100+ combines. Think my longest was around 200 without a skillup.
