I just wanna know roughly when they plan to do it. My bet is on October for the 3 year anniversary of Green.

Was considering coming back to Green but it's hard to really commit EQ level time when a new server might be dropping any time soon. Teal was such a blast... Really miss that period.

The obvious choice for pure classic-ness is March 16.

Two and a half months after their given earliest date sounds good.

Mudflation can't be mitigated in a classic way in P99. The plat sinks just aren't there. Regular fresh servers would be great, though I imagine the population will decline depending on how many people enjoy going through the same classic journey over and over again. Personally I'd love to have an ongoing 'EQ timeline train' to hop on every so often, but I doubt Green launch will be recreated 1:1 the next time.

New green needs legacy items to not be removed and made no drop. Only thing to keep it from becoming an absolute neckbeard cluster.

Manastone is never going to not be a neckbeard cluster.

But honestly who cares?

What's the difference in a fresh server vs blue/green right now? People just twink the shit out of their characters and/or powerlevel them. Would have a far better fresh experience and robust newbie/mid level game if we had the following and wouldn't even need to have new server.

1. Put level limits on items and buffs.
2. Put in anti powerleveling code to prevent bards/monks and whatever other classes do to powerlevel someone.

If somebody can manage to twink a character at the launch of a new server then more power to 'em. Only the neckbeardiest of neckbeards are doing that kind of thing in the first few months and trying to stop those people from abusing a 20 year old game they know back and forward is a waste of time anyway.
