Dude, I am so glad you said that.

Because I love all horror movies, especially zombie movies, but for like 20 years I could never admit to my friends that I just didnt "get" re-animator.. I like came out about it a few years ago.

Like everyone that loves it loves it, but for some reason I just could not ever get into it.

I respect it as a masterpiece though. But man, it is Niche.

Glad to see the apocalypse trilogy mentioned; In the Mouth of Madness is fantastic.

For Halloween, I guess it depends if you're actually watching/listening to it, or if it's something on a tv at a party, where conversation and music drown it out anyways. If that is the case, evil dead 2/army of darkness/friday the 13th(s) etc.

Random suggestions (some requiring more attention span than others):
trick 'r treat
vhs
hereditary
it follows
babadook
cabin the woods
drag me to hell
tales from the crypt movies (demon knight, bordello of blood etc)

My favorite old zombie movies:

Nightmare City - full movie (this one is so good!)
City of the living dead - full movie
Shock Waves - full movie
Zombie 2 - pay to play [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Cannibal Holocaust - full movie
Cannibal Apocalypse - trailer only [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Return of The Living Dead - clips
Return of The Living Dead 2 - clips
Zombie 3 - trailer
The Beyond Bit more spiritual, also just a trailer.
Zedder Ok if you're this far down the list you can watch these really uh... not so great ones [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
Dammit, I saw this insane zombie movie at the Alamo Drafthouse a while ago, it was made by an American director that like, couldn't get his film funded, so they filmed it in Mexico, so its this like, incredibly weird 80s zombie movie that Id love to put on this list but just cant for the life of me remember the name of.

This movie is IMO the greatest homage to horror and the most fresh and amazing story for the genera like, that I think could ever be made. I love this movie so much.
