Memory error causing crash
I just purchased an Alienware Aurora R10 with a Ryzen 7 5800x 3.7 ghz processor, RTX 3080 video card, 16 gb of dddr4 3200 mhz, and a 1tb NVMIE SDD. The game is crashing randomly and I am repeatedly getting an error stating "Windows- Application Error" with the error stating that the memory could not be read. Does anyone know of a fix for this problem? I tested my memory and there were no errors and so far P99 is the only application where this is happening.

I'm having the same issue on my new HP i5 11th gen. I've tried running EQ through Lavishsoft and instead of the memory error it just crashes to the desktop.

If you have integrated graphics try using that instead of the RTX 3080. I have to use integrated graphics or my games screen will randomly freeze and alt enter ends up crashing it completely.

I guess make sure resolution is correct, run as admin, run in different compatibility modes and see if one is better than the other, move Everquest out of program files and into a folder straight on the harddrive. Those are the only tricks I know of.

And if it's 800x600, what do you set your computer display at?

Dgvoodoo2 will help P99 recognize your newer discrete cards:

For those having issues running EQ after upgrading your laptop that's using an Intel Iris graphics card, this worked for me. Again, thanks Mcoy! | |||
