Default Wizard nostalgia

I remember there being a group of wizards on my server, I never saw them but I heard about them a lot, that would get together and go kill named dragons together instantly with mana burn, I think that's what it was called, where they could dump their mana and instantly DD something for huge amounts of damage. Was that a real thing? Can it be done on p1999? Or was that something from luclin and AAs that let them do that?

Manaburn is a wizard ability obtained through AAs.

It was a real thing since Kunark dragons only have 32k hp, but it's not possible to do it here on p1999 at the moment.

Ahh okay, always thought that was the coolest thing, just some group of wizards blowing up dragons and stuff that use to take full raids to do, just remembered it last night (because now I dream of EQ ;_; )

Default Mana _ _ _ _ _

We used to call it "Manadrool." Everyone would open their mouths and drool in AWE as they witnessed the awesome power that a group of wizards could inflict on a mob. Was the best! Everyone ran to make a wiz alt after it came out.

Manaburn was definitely a useful tool. Had a lot of fun with it.

How did mana burn work? Did it just convert your mana pool to direct damage or did it have a multiplier?

I recall a rumor that I heard back on The Tribunal that we had a wizzie that one-shot VT with a mana burn crit after which there was a hot fix by Verant. Not sure if this was true or not but if it was...damn.
