I dont' remember disease cloud being that OP except in the very earliest days. And even then it wasnt that OP it was just OP as far as classic went. So not as OP as it was.

I played an SK back in the day, it wasn't super high level, but I do remember Disease Cloud being the meta. Always felt weird how on P99 instead of using Disease Cloud in most instances I would find myself using Clinging Darkness.

Granted I don't actually think my SK 20+ years ago was ever super high level. My friend gave me his level 60+ SK during planes of Power, but by that point SKs were spamming those spear spells for damage. I can't even remember if we still used Disease Cloud at that point in the game.

Spear spells were long recast so nobody was using them for consistent aggro. DC was useful until terror line was introduced, which was just pure aggro spells.

DC was always the primary aggro spell of SK's and it is now completely useless on P99. Utterly broken, utterly class-destroying. SK's are paperweights now.

He would have like 3 different spears loaded (different levels for each spear) and then chain cast them or whatever. IDK if that was the meta or not, it's just how I inherited the character and assume it was supposed to be played. I was really just using him to farm trash in PoD. Wasn't really doing high-end content or anything, lol.

Yeah, the other issue with DD for aggro is summons, etc. Generally just not for that purpose. Aggro spells will also generate a lot more hate than those DDs anyway. They're good for mobs that run if you don't wanna snare/they aren't snareable tho

Certainly remember dots in general being big aggro, always geared my warrior weapons towards this on live.

Always used disease cloud on my sk, but didn't role one until after classic
