Green lvl 21 War -- best solo weapons?

So, I finally got a fungi for my war and want to start soloing. I used it on monk and was able to solo pretty much with ease till about 50 and im hoping to have similar results with war. Obviously with differences. But I am having difficulty finding the right weapons to be the most effective solo.

I dont have a ton of time to play most days so thats why im soloing and just want an effective high dps combo to solo.

I keep seeing mixed suggestions on the best weapon combo for him. Hes only lvl 21 so take that into account. Ive heard things like staff of battle is best till 40s? But then ive also heard Wurmslayer/Lamination is also a good combo? But then others say I should be putting the fastest weapon in primary (which rules out Wurmslayer).

So. In short. If i wanna solo and want the best possible dps output on a lvl 21 what is the general consensus on weapons to get me there?

Fastest weapon main hand is for DPS / threat. When soloing this is not what you're concerned with—you don't need extra threat and faster weapons mean more ripostes coming your way and are generally lower damage and thus lower ripostes and crits from you.

When soloing on a warrior you want to maximize DPS and weapon damage, while balancing attack speed. Pre-Velious and excluding VP rots, a Staff of Battle is your best bet (but you will slightly be dmg capped until 30 unfortunately).

Wurmslayer / Lammy is also pretty solid, but crits/crips with your offhand will be weak and the extra attacks will lead to extra ripostes. You might try something like Fist of Zek or Jagged Long Sword offhand instead. Unfortunately, you missed the double Wurmy window :/

Would Fist of Zek and Jagged Long Sword be a good combo? using both?

Wurmy will be better main hand for a long time, as it's slower and higher damage. Slower is better because it means you take less damage from ripostes. Higher damage is better because it means your ripostes, crits and crips deal more.

I'd just get a staff of battle and the best haste you can afford so you can save your cash for bloodpoints and a truncheon later on...

Fastest first only really applies once you have decent primary hand damage bonus. Offhand still barely swings at 21 (but will proc at the normal off hand rate, even when you don't make a swing).


at 21 get a nice ratio primary and a utility proc secondary.

Fist of Zek and Polished Granite Tomahawk will be good for a few levels.

Switch to Jarsath Trident + Fist of Zek later. All good budget items.

Staff of Battle if you want to keep things simple.

if you absolutely want to DW, something like Winters Fury MH and Sebilite Croaking Dirk in OH. But for better dps Reaver is your friend level 30-49, and if you can't afford Staff of Battle indeed, as most people have stated.

And I agree with above comment regarding haste.

Step 3) any weapon better than 9/18
