This is, essentially, the gnostic faith translated into today's language. Theres no mystical skyman judging over you. Your spirit essence left the other plane to visit this plane of duality because it could not experience difference within the singularity.

Unfortunately, it is also trapped here in this plane, doomed to reincarnate until it finds the way to escape the demiurges trap.

The dharmic faith believes the reincarnation to be the purpose, however this is where gnosticism and buddhism diverge from dharmic faith.
