Missing Ground Spawns: Iron Oxide and Russet Oxide in Steamfont Mountains

Description: It seems that there are potential missing ground spawns for Iron Oxide and Russet Oxide in Steamfont Mountains.

Details:

• Iron Oxide supposed spawn points on a 24 hour timer*:
  • 1607.53, -1226.90, 16.63
  • 1478.99, -1583.77, 7.01
  • 1449.92, -1511.95, 17.97
  • 1402.21, -1504.23, 6.85
  • 1285.01, -1466.99, 2.41
  • 1211.13, -1379.75, 14.17
• Russet Oxide supposed spawn points on a 24 hour timer*:
  • 1563.07, -1272.36, 14.73
  • 1492.20, -1513.04, 6.89
  • 1424.97, -1518.66, 10.29
  • 1381.11, -1440.51, 2.41
  • 1251.92, -1500.95, 2.41
  • 1189.99, -1385.14, 17.70

*Timers are based on comments and not verified.

Additional Information:

While I do not have substantial evidence that these spawns were present during the Classic times, it would be logical for them to have been.

I was around the mino caves when I found a "Russet Oxide" inside the gear looking thing on the ground (looks like a big gash of flesh on the ground) I also went on top of the iron roof type deal above the entrance to the Mino caves when I saw another one of these gash looking things on top of the machinery infront of the caves. I jumped onto it and picked it up and it is called "Iron Oxide" Later on I went to a steam deal right by the big bolt where u find the "Russet Oxide" and I found 2 "Moss Covered Drake Scales" and to the right some more I found 2 more at another steam outlet. anyways if anyone knows what these are for please lemme know. BTW I tried selling these and the merchants tell me they will give me 8 copper each for all of these items but when u click sell they say they are not interested in buying them.

Im not sure on the price people will pay. but on Kane Bayle they are asking for 10pp a piece. Whether he got it or not is another story however. Also they arnt that rare if you know where to look. 1 russet okide and 1 iron oxide spawn on the ground behind two different machines near the min caves. I dont know how long it takes to respawn however. Im a little out of date on the prices as well. It has been about two months since i saw that price but it might help to give you an idea.

Missing Ground Spawns: Moss Covered Drake Scales in Steamfont Mountains

Based on the 2001 post it seems Moss Covered Drake Scales were ground spawns as well. I wasn't sure about those ones because it appeared they were for future Newbie gear quests that never get implemented on Project 1999. If they are Classic as well here is some information on their spawns too:

Moss Covered Drake Scale supposed spawn points on a 6 minute and 40 second timer*:

• 1730, -1335
• 1726, -1385
• 1579, -1626
• 1547, -1628
• 1722, -1950

*Timer is based on comments and not verified.

In an old bug report, user 'toddfx' pointed out this issue but did not find any solid evidence pre-2002.

Some corroborating information from a Jan 2001 EQTraders snapshot

My guess is that these ground spawns were added with the tradeskill revamp patch (Sept. 2000), but I haven't come across anything that states that explicitly yet.
