I'm playing classic EQ1 because it's pretty rad and brings some great stuff to the table that you don't tend to find anymore. But despite that, classic EQ1 wasn't 100% perfect. This poll isn't going to accomplish anything and the penalty will stay, but personally I'm totally in favor of a few smart changes here and there like hybrid exp penalty removal and saving spell sets. I'd also love a higher group exp bonus since people solo way too much on P1999 compared to the old days, which sometimes makes it feel like those modern MMOs that I don't care for.

I'm at least glad that we do get a few QoL features such as item linking, the newer UI, receiving tells while zoning, and not needing to stare down a spellbook to meditate. A lot of the somewhat annoying elements of oldschool EQ actually made the game better in the long run, but these are not among them.

Keep. I want to savor my pally experience. Being that I have no inclination to raid on this server, I'm in no hurry to rush up to 60 with my hybrid toons.

As Ron Burgandy once said, "Stay classic P99".

It's really not that bad to level with the penalty in place. A bunch of us have done it; you can too!
