Default best duo, same start area

Looking to duo AND start near the same noobie area.

What race/class suggestions seem to work well and start with little to no travel danger?

Thanks!

Two very powerful duo options:

Monk + Shaman (2x Iksar)
Enchanter + Cleric (2x Dark Elf, or 2x High Elf)

Iksar starting zone is pretty self-contained, you can level quite a ways in it before you have to travel at all.
Similarly, High Elf starting zone is right by Crushbone, and Dark Elf starting area is right by the Commonlands.

Yeah, Necros combo well with a lot of casters. Shamans, Enchanters, Clerics, other Necros. Even done some Paladin/Necro duo before with the paladin tanking, and Necro doing dps/spot heals.

2x Gnome Mage. I can hook you up with low lvl shit and some buffs. You won’t regret it.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Enchanter/Druid. No healing power of the cleric, but you get the following when combined:

Double pets (when appropriate animals are present)
mez/root/snare/stun/lull/harmony makes pulling and CC a breeze
A little tracking
Regen
Decent healing
POTG + C2 at the end
Ports
SoW
OK nukes for finishing stragglers
Fear kiting with OP pets

GFay for both classes starting area, etc...
