Helmets are used to raise Coldain / Dain or CoV / Yelinak.

Wiki says, that 56 helmets are needed to raise Coldain from appre to kindly and that is what I need to do thurgadin armor quests.

I think you are talking about Coldain Heads to raise giant faction.

on the bright side, these helms are a lot easier to find than the coldain heads haha
