Default Man eating creeper - Swamp of No Hope

Anyone who has done this portion of the Necro Skullcap quest recently got any tips/tricks for finding these little bastards (or getting them to spawn), short of hiring a tracker? I've sat in the Wiki recommended lakeside retreat murdering all passerby plants for hours, have yet to see one of these much less get the drop.

Get a tracker and kill everything.
It seems lower level, so try killing level appropriate mobs.

I've gotten mine without a tracker. Twice, because I messed up and turned the stuff into the wrong NPC.

Every time I stuck to a circle around the iksar camps. PHs are other plants. I moved around the square just west of #3 on the wiki map and did rounds down to the square ruins south and southwest of #3. My cut-off point being around 0.0(around the water near center). Seems many plants will eventually path through 0, 600 too.

When you go past the cut-off it seems plants become way less common.

It does not always have the thing you want which is a fun addition. The upside is that if you keep running around this area most of them will path through you.

I'll give this a shot. Cheers!

Yeah but imagine if it was a human male model with a mustache? I'd be more afraid.
