Default How to pervent being rooted

Hello all,

I'm a level 32 cleric and I was wondering is there any way to cut down on being rooted by a mob?

I tried the spell "Cancel Magic" but that just removed my buffs.
Would Magic Resistance help?

Thanks,
Zekataz

Magic Resistance would help alot. Other option is to DA if you see it being casted on you.
You can also dispell the Root, but it may not take it first.

Note that even a green mob can root a lvl60. So, kinda hard to prevent tbh.

Dispels go over your effects in order. They have a chance to skip, too, but your best chance to dispel the root is if it's in your first buff slot or you click off any buffs that come before it.

Yes MR helps. Even with max mr there's a decent chance for roots to land, but in that case they tend wear off fast.

I would keep both DA's memmed. I've never cast one to block a root like the other poster suggested, but sometimes casting one because I'm rooted has been useful.

When casting your buffs, cast one or two trash buffs first, then cast your (and any other group members) good buffs. Then click off the trash buffs. Mob spells will go into the first empty slot. This will let Cancel Magic work on the mob spells first.

Keep out of line of sight before the mob gets a chance to cast root on you. It won’t cast (and will be interrupted) if stunned or feared. To break root you can target yourself with small nuke spells.

dispel specifically targetting the top buff slot hasnt been a thing on p99 in quite a few years.

I think there still a few raid enemies who will wipe out the first half dozen or buffs, but not really relevant to this discusssion.
