No sounds at all

The sounds on 1999 just stopped working for no reason. I tried other games everything works fine on other games. I checked all the previous issues reported and possible solutions but nothing seems to work for me. I even deleted every and reinstalled completely but I still cant get sounds. I was looking forward to having some decent play time instead wasted a day getting nothing done but trying to fix this. ARGH!!!

Does anyone have any ideas? I am at a loss what is the issue. I suspect the file typing for the .pfs is not setup properly but I cant figure out anyone of testing this theory. Double clicking has no effects.

Is there an option to reinstall audio related files?

Following patches installed:
P99Files52.zip
transparencypatcher.zip
veliousuiv3.zip

I ran Dxdiag no issues.

At a loss what to try next.
Not sure I can play without sound.

Fixed my problem:

Used a program called Codec Tweak Tool

Click fixes

Then click on the Reset Windows Audio...leave other checked boxes default.

This fixed my problem no idea why.
