Playing on Mac - Error in your GUI XML files. Check UIErrors.txt

I'm trying to get a friend of mine up and running for P99, and she is so close to being able to play. When she tries to open up the game, the window pops up that seems like shes able to play, but the error listed in the topic title pops up: Error in your GUI XML files. Check UIErrors.txt.

Here is what UIerrors.txt says:

Found out how to do it! I know others have had this issue, so you may want to add this fix to a database. The default UI folder will not work. You need to rename the default_old folder as default and delete the original default folder.

help? I just downloaded the newest patch on the home page, and this problem occurred.

In my case, when copying extracted files to eq folder, sub folders are replaced entirely instead overwrite only conflict files.
