Ogre Stun Immunity and Interrupt Question
I'm new. I want to play a Shaman and I'm picking between Ogre and Troll for the race.
I browsed some threads on the subject and a thread from 2010 https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...8&postcount=34 said that mobs do not use pushback and instead interrupt spells just by attacking. And this would make a technique where you back into a wall or corner to avoid being interrupted by pushback obsolete. This would seem to make Ogres not as good a candidate for shaman. Hopefully the game's mechanics have changed now. 1. Do mobs use pushback in 2016? 2. Do mobs interrupt Ogre's just by attacking them in 2016?

you can get pushed and have your spell interrupted ... usually on a slick surface like valks lab ramps.
Ogre shm can facetank and cast at the same time, effective at level 1 when you are casting your fire nuke on lizzards in the feerott. If you take rear hits you can get stunned and spells will then be interrupted.

I am playing a new ogre shaman now. You can and will be interrupted backed into a corner (or just by being hit). The only advantage is not being automatically interrupted on stuns. This may have changed at some point, but that is the reality now.

On Blue, play ogre. On Red, play troll.

If you're going to solo most of the time, an ogre is great.
If you're going to be grouping mostly, an iksar/troll is great. If you're going to play for nostalgia or RP or "something different", a barbarian is tolerated. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

There are 3 ways you can get interrupted: Stun, Push, and "Interrupts"
Ogre immunes you to stun from the front. Push doesn't really happen unless you are fighting something that hits super fast, you are being gangbanged... or you're on a slippery surface where you can be pushed easily. Back against the wall counters this as well as any race. Interrupts happen fairly frequently by mobs who have the ability to do so. Some mobs have access to Bash or Kick (usually Warrior types) - which will interrupt your casts. They also spam it on cooldown - so the moment they connect with you they will attempt to interrupt you.
