100% people should pay their taxes, but people are obsessed with this guy.

Most wealthy people do dodgy shit tax shit, it's fundamentally how they get wealthy in the first place.

The ATO (Tax Department in Australia) had to crack down on people make fake business' to buy cars in the business' name then running the business at a loss (because it was fake) and claiming the losses at tax time rofl.

It's just a matter of these dudes who have figured out how to manipulate the system to their advantage.

We just bought a new house and was advised by our broker that we should run our 'renovation costs thru our rental, i.e pretend we renovated our investment cash cow' to claim the costs so we don't get stung with the 8 grand of tax on the investment we pay yearly, and he said do it during the July period so you can claim it in both financial years (i.e 2x lots).

It's just how you play the game. Doing that saved us 16,000$ in taxes over 2 years. So do you hate the person who manages to tweak the system? or do you appreciate the game for what it is?

Not the point I was trying to bait out, but interesting nonetheless.

Almost all of Bezos's net worth is tied up in Amazon stock, and such a tax bill could force him to sell some. He currently has $2.5 billion of cash and other liquid assets, according to the Bloomberg wealth index's net worth analysis.

You pay your taxes like normal people so that the country can be a better place for everyone.

hate 2 break 2 you, Bezos paying his taxes aint gunna fix the problems in the USA, it's beyond that at this stage.

As an Engineer I was reading some report by some agency in the USA that indicated that approximately 50,000 bridges in the USA are heading towards their life cycle that were built during the great boom of the early 1900s to which there isn't enough $ to maintain them.

385 million people in US. If they taxed Bezos for 100% of his portfolio (which would crash Amazon's stock and a huge number of other companies dependent on Amazon for distribution) that would be 490$/citizen; hardly enough to make the country a better place; it wouldnt even get the junkies out of tent city.

On that note, Has Bezo's creation not improved the life Americans, as it stands? Have you not already extracted 500$ in vlue from the existence of Amazon in cost and time savings?
