Posted this elsewhere but I'll add it to this classic thread. They should open a test server with classic TZ or SZ rules simultaneously with the release of Kunark on Green. It would save zone crashes in TT as hundreds descend for their Seb keys and it's impermanent. You'd never see me on Green for as long as test stayed up.

P99 PvP died out because the ruleset appealed to no one.

They went FFA PvP with coin loot. A non-classic ruleset. What is the problem with this?

FFA PvP players want item loot. They're griefers to the max. With only coin loot they quickly get bored.

Coin loot PvP players were more "casual PvP" players who came from team servers. They want a sense of community and safety with some occasional PvP risk. With FFA PvP they quickly got bored.

They could have either done FFA item loot or teams coin loot but they went with some bastardized non-classic hybrid.

The best ruleset for P99 would be teams PvP with a non-classic mechanic to stop cross team cooperation. Teams live was the only PvP to get more than 1 server due to popularity and it only became unpopular because top raiding guilds cross teamed to gain an advantage defeating the purpose of the server and they wouldn't do anything to stop it. Cross team healers you couldn't attack, full classes, etc.
