Neither?

Sprinkler of Suffering click, swap mainhand to Smoldering Cudgel for a swing, then swap and click Sprinkler of Suffering again. Costs a bout a half second to swap swing swap.

When I had Easily set up for this with a reasonable dex build he was a 28-30dps cleric consistently. I've done it in like 2012 with Motec and had nowhere near the dex and it was far less enjoyable.
Yea that’s exactly what the OP wanted to know. Might as well suggested trying an epic Mage pet.

Edit: A thought.
OMG haste doesnt inceease procs. So a slower weapon and intermitant undead DD casts would yield better results?
With the same dex the only time a slower weapon will have a higher proc rate is the initial swing. Since it’s averaged “per minute” if you stand there plinking, over time, both will average the same even though the slower one will have a higher chance (less swings per minute).

By jousting and letting the melee timer reset (turn it on/off) you can take advantage of a slower delay weapon. In the case of these weapons, one is twice the DD so while a nauseating approach it’s technically your most efficient way to damage a rooted NPC vs taking damage.

Or just nuke and afk for 7 mins in a safe place then do that again.

Dawnfire is better becuase its:

a) Droppable
b) procs 10 levels sooner
c) bigger proc
d) attacks just as fast if you cast between attacks
