Angry On the price of Lambent Armor

Let me start this opus by noting that it is not based on any recent encounter.
It really isn't. As a matter of fact, if anything, it's based on an encounter
about a year ago where someone was auctioning to buy visible lambent for 5k. I
was like "hmm" that's curious... wonder what that entails. Druid travails
incurred, cuz easy, right? Then I sold a suit for 5k.

We all like that fashion quest and Lambent is some beautiful armor for your
level 6 bard mule in the tunnel; just like my own. Level 6 so he has selos and
can walk and Lambent because I suck and don't own Rubicite. So I'll settle for
the gorgeous Lambent. Or also just for normal bards because they suck and just
kite.

Let's start with some data. Lambent is (and all those stupid ass level 30-ish
quests are) EXPENSIVE. Not only are they expensive, generally speaking they're
utter trash. Except in rare cases, such as Lambent, for fashion. Particularly
for your mule in the tunnel holding thousands upon thousands of platinumz. The
stats suck, they suck. They just suck. Unless you're living in 1999.

Reference the wiki: Here's what it costs (vendor gems) to quest a set of
Lambent (and the others likely close): (All gems total as a result of requiring
x2, these are general prices, not like fucking max cha/faction bullshit because
that's not the point): bp: ruby == 284 helm: star ruby == 140 vambraces:
sapphire == 220 bracer: fire opal == 110 (550gp to shitter in temple ro)
greaves: fire opal == 110 (550gp to shitter in temple ro) boots: sapphire ==
220 gaunts: star ruby == 140 Total: 1224

Ok, now you need some of those fancy lambent stones to turn all those gems into
usable crap so that you can turn it into usable crap. But you don't wanna farm
the lambent stones? Ok, buy 'em from a vendor, easy enough to find:

lambent stones x7 from vendor: 315

So a visible suit of lambent costs about 1540 platinumz.

The wiki prices (conservatively eyeballing, I did not actually calculate
averages) are about thus: bp: 450 helm: 150 vamb: 150 bracer: 200 greaves: 300
boots: 200 gaunts: 150

For a grand total of 1600 platinumz.

Some of the drops for the turn-ins are actually extremely rare. Griffeene
anyone? Have you spent time in sola for your fashion hunting down Solusek
Champions and Solusek Mages? Have you roamed the edges of Norrath so you can
look good saying 'WTS'?

So you want this for 60 platinumz basically? "BUT THE WIKEH" you cryeth.
That's cool.

Get rekt. You can buy a suit of visible Lambent for 5k or you can look like a
pleb. It's really up to you. Nobody wants to buy anything from anything that
isn't good looking in deep, deep, eye engaging blue armor casually strumming
a lute that makes you wish you had always actually successfully wooed that
supremely charismatic guitar player in whatever stage of life you choose to
select.

Also, selling seven piece visible suits of Lambent for you fashion whores.
Love you all. <3

I read it but don’t understand why this post was made. Seems dumb.

It's because they think your time is worthless OP.

With such quality rants the customer would certainly be wrong about the low value of OP’s time!

There is a premium to cosplay as sonic. Don’t let them tell you the suit depreciates just because of the lingering aroma of previous occupants sweat.

Instead of making the post, you could have just sent a tell stating gem cost and average hours spent getting the drops and turn-ins followed with "that's time spent not porting for plat or camping raw plat" to the guy who offended you. No one's going to direct him here to read this post.
