If we said SoW like cow we might also be calling for each others female pigs. And although some of us might have no problem with that stuff...... That would just be nasty. So I will stick with Sow as in sew.

My reasoning for pronouncing it as /soʊ/ (rhymes with go) is this:
The spell is named Spirit of Wolf. You could conceivably shorten it to "Spirit o' Wolf" and therefore the "o" could become the long "o" if you were to shorten that to SOW. There is no "ah" sound in Spirit of Wolf so it doesn't make sense to me to say it as /saʊ/ (rhymes with cow).
