Default Better spell effects?

When I last played, I remember someone was working to improve the spell effects and make them more appropriate to what was live back in the day.

I haven't played in a few years and I can't find the thread, is this still a thing? Is it still recommended to use them?

Thanks guys.

I strongly think the classic casting animations are included when you patch your eq.
The lastest Project 1999 patch includes spellsnew.edd, Spellsnew.eff & SpellEffects Folder.

and found this: https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...d.php?t=129722
Both from 2013 no idea if they work still.

Modifying graphics is a major gray area on p99. do so at your own risk.
