Default Stupid WC Cap Questions

So I just used my WC cap for the first time the other night (it saved me from a Corrupted Seafury), and now I need to recharge it. Having never done that before, I assume I should:

A) Get a charged cap on an alt
B) Camp both chars next to an un-used vendor
C) Sell the uncharged cap to vendor
D) Sell the charged cap to vendor
E) Buy both back

Is that correct, or is there any better way?

Also, does anyone have any recommendations on good out-of-the-way vendors I can use (preferably non-greedy ones)?

One last thing: I tried to trade my un-charged cap to someone with a charged one, and the game told me it was an invalid trade. That seems kinda sad to me: if it worked n00bs could make money running cap recharging businesses. But that's not a bug, it's just a part of classic EverQuest, right?

you sell the charged cap first

then the uncharged

then you buy them back

they're lore so you can't trade them

Ah, that makes perfect sense now that I think about it. Thanks for saving me a cap [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Yeah I know, I just figured since we're (theoretically) trading them simultaneously neither of us would ever have two at the same time. But I guess that's just not how the engine works.

Make sure you sell it to a vendor with not much on them. If they have a lot of stuff you may never see it in their inventory.

I use a vendor in neriak 3rd gate where the cleric spells are. No one tends to be in 3rd gate, obviously only works if your evil.

Remember when you sell something to a vendor it doesn't belong to you any more.

You are relying on nobody walking past and thinking 'oh this item seems kinda cool for the price'.

Haha he still plays.

I'm surprised more folks don't charge their caps in WC. I save a ton of time doing it that way.
