Default Spellcasting being interrupted

My level 18 mage has all his spellcasting skills maxed out at 95, including channeling which is supposed to help you get spells off even after taking damage, however, my casting is still constantly getting interrupted by every single hit I take. Is this normal? I seem to remember around level 10 or so being able to take 2 or 3 hits and still get spells off

You need higher skill in channeling, which skills up as you cast any spell.

It is pretty random, just like everything in EQ. Some days you will be a channeling god and nothing will interrupt you. The next day a moss snake will interrupt everything you cast. Just pray to the RNG gods and hope for the best.

For what its worth, do not rely on channeling to save you if you can avoid it. You will be disappointed.

This may be a "no duh" kinda comment and if so then sorry about it. You are of course waiting till immediately after getting hit to cast a spell? For awhile when beginning I just spammed the cast till realizing waiting then hitting it much improved interrupts.
