Default Duo options...

Was wondering with a friend of mine, what would be the most fun and challenging classes to play as duo... With some efficiency...
Was thinking ENC / DRU, but in the end, I supposed the Druid might be boring to play, chanter doing all the hard work, the other one relegued to snare and nukes...
In fact we want both classes to be active, fun and challenging to play. Any idea ?

Monk/Shaman is a pretty amazing duo.

Saw you didn't like the idea of ENC/DRU but with Enchanter/Cleric you can push the limits quite a bit more and it should be fun for both players and super insanely powerful - one of the best if not the best duo.

Cleric gets to keep the enchanter alive on charm breaks, stun/root stuff, heal pet, etc.
Enchanter will do most of the heavy lifting with pulling, charms, mezzes, but a good cleric goes a long long way making his life easier.

SHM/SK is also pretty good, if one of you doesn't want to be a monk but has an xp penalty vs. the monk

Monk/Shaman is the melee go to duo.
Enchanter/Cleric is the caster/charm go to duo.

Both of them are extremely OP because Slow didn't get tuned until post-Velious when it started to mitigate, and because Torpor and Complete Heal weren't well thought out abilities that provide a ridiculous heal-mana ratio relative to all other heals.

Come Velious, Monk/Shaman will probably be one of the best duos. Enchanter/Cleric is more reliant on finding a location with a high 40s or low 50s pet. And a lot of dungeons only have low-mid 50s pets so charm will break much more randomly at higher level camps. While manageable, especially with cleric backup, it can be annoying and left to the whim of RNG.

Enchanter and any of the 3 priests is a viable option though. Each has it's strengths and weaknesses.

Cleric - CH is extremely OP on a pet, since at the higher end it will be landing for a full 10,000. Making it the most efficient means of healing. Also on charm breaks, a competent cleric partner will be casting stun on your pet so that you may channel another longer duration stun, mez or even recharming. If you screw up, cleric is there to Rez you.
Druid - Snare is a fabulous way to assist in charm killing, being able to get a charm to land before the mob gets in melee range is huge. On charm breaks Druids can pull aggro with a single snare sometimes, acting as a ghetto stun. Druid DS is nice assistance DPS on a charmed pet and Regen on enchanter is okay passive healing. Plus Druid porting. Druid lacks an efficient big heal, which will force you to mezblur pets to let them regen or recycle and get a new pet.
Shaman - Malo makes charm last more reliably. Once they get Torpor you can efficiently heal a pet, until then spot heals work for keeping yourself and the chanter up, not so great on a pet. There's a lot of overlap with shaman/enchanter (slow/haste), so bringing a shaman can allow for them to take on the slowing role to save the chanter mana.

Ench/Cler is best for high end areas if you want to farm it and keep a single pet. Ench/Sham is solid as well. Ench/Druid is good if you like to bounce around and do lots of different areas, they will be weaker in high end dungeons due to lack of a means to efficiently heal a pet.

Some of the best duo options is wis healer and int caster. Almost every combo works great together.
