Started a wizard any advice or tips?

you can place a slot (inventory or equipped, but not from inside bags) as a hotkey, then bind that hotkey to whatever key you want

See what Kirdan said. For a second there I gaslit myself and thought I made it all up - I definitely hit 'e' for temp flux - just leave it out of a bag (i think mine is slot 2 in inventory), then click hold, and place it in your hotbar, then assign a key to that number spot on the hotbar.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Huh, I may have actually gaslit myself haha. I could have sworn I tried that exact setup and it didn’t work. I have both JBoots and a Breath of Harmony that I’ve been grumpily manually clicking. Same with my Enchanter’s spell reset clicky. Gotta give this another try!

While it is possible that you may have issues joining established groups, remember that you can always form your own group. Find an open camp and offer to transport people across Norrath to create your adventuring party.

I’ve never been in a group where people would turn down a wizard. More often than not we’re struggling to get a full group and will message anyone who is LFG.

The only wizards that get turned down are the ones who nuke away their mana then afk for 20 minutes. Reputations definitely count in this game. Make the most of your roots and stuns, save the nuke for a fleeing mob and basically make yourself useful and you'll be sought after in groups frequently. A well played wizard can oil the machine of any group.

Never hurts to keep a bag of food/bandages/shurikens on hand to buy some favor with the group either.

Please allow me to elaborate.
Wizard is excellent at nuking classic & kunark targets. Meaning if you level one up to 60, you can get some easy DKP and help your guild get target kills via nuking those raid mobs.
