did u guys see that video of the dude breaking his leg in half to get out of it in russia?

russians take everything too far lol
Just imagine the desperation needed to do that

No, I did not see it, sounds heartbreaking. I used to watch videos of people doing surgery on themselves in their garage since they couldn’t afford the doctor.

I hope you get to bow hunt with him down the road. That was one of the coolest things I regularly did with my sons. We haven’t been in a bit but we plan to go elk hunting in CO next year
Thank you! That's one of my long term goals. I've only done a little hunting myself but as he gets older I'm really hoping it's something we can get out and try to figure out together.

He's expressed interest and is doing well with the safety stuff, so I'm cautiously optimistic!

Good stuff, when I was a kid I was super into traditional recurve archery. We did these target courses through the woods and you would get a score on target accuracy / course completion time.
That sounds awesome! He's a long way from doing that but I had no idea those were a thing so I'll keep it in mind for the future!

Race day! Work 5k. I gotta do more races sometime, I love the atmosphere

Got first for my age group, second overall. Some under 17yr old high school girl who was very small beat me by about 20-30s. She seemed like a track girl. Some super fit dude was on my ass the entire way, passed me at the last 70y so I gunned it ahead of him at the 40y and finished like 5 seconds ahead like “nah bro, not today”. We fistbumped after

Happy with my time, much better than my practice time. And it was dreadful hot. Leg didn’t hurt bad surprisingly, took a Vicodin I had leftover from surgery though, that helped

If you ain’t first, yer last!

Found out today we can do the entire post-transplant period not only as outpatients, barring complications like fever or infection. Rather than shelling out for an apartment for three to six months, since health insurance won't cover that cost, we have been authorized to stay at our house.

Which she loves. She'd much rather heal at home, with me and the idiot cats. Yeah, it's more driving, about an hour each way daily for at least the first two months or so. If it goes well we drop down to like two or three times per week. But if it makes her transition easier I have no issues driving.

I am active and exercise regularly as do a lot of people, but not many past mid 20s are active to the point of pushing themselves. NY marathon or work 5K -- doesn't matter if you give it your all and you win.

Grats. You deserve to feel proud.

Unemployment and rising crime can be used as leverage to increase military recruitment. Both are related to economic conditions. There’s a reason they use the GI bill stuff for recruitment, and why they are permitted to recruit in high schools. Which is downright evil.

I like that these things are ceasing to work for the time being, but as economic conditions worsen, I assume recruitment will go up. Especially if war breaks out, for obvious reasons.

They don’t even need a draft anymore. Poverty is the draft. Capitalism requires widespread poverty, it needs an underclass to exploit.

I also don’t see why it matters if a drone operator is large. We have all been schooled in some game by some basement hambeast. Sure, if the base they’re working out of gets overrun, they can’t fight back as effectively as the in-shape, but militaries have often had lots of non-combat roles.
