Default EverQuest stock sounds

I recently discovered the ding sound is from a stock sfx library:

https://soundeffects.fandom.com/wiki...E_HIT_AND_RING

Sadly, the sound effects wiki does not have many entries tagged as used in EQ. I'm trying to track down two specifically:

- The quest turn-in trumpet fanfare
- The night ambience (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT0c4LGqgBc)

Anyone got any leads? (or at least know wtf that animal noise is, in the night ambience)

Thanks!

I believe the sound engineer worked with foley artists to sexually violate a real life werewolf.

I remember reading in PC Gamer that they trekked deep in the Washington woods outside the studio to find the beast and they made sure not to use any lube in order to recreate a more authentic feel to the groan.

Almost all sound design in all popular media is some hodgepodge of recordings other people made way prior to that media.

Original orchestral soundtracks like star wars or back to the future or the lord of the rings trilogy are an exception, but those things are rarely made now because it's way cheaper to just load up some DAW and pop some orchestral samples in than to pay a composer and a conductor and an orchestra and studio to actually record it.

That just makes the quests authentic.

If you just want to export the sounds, you can use s3dspy (search the forums - i think zaela's got a link that works). If you're looking for some info on the specific sound library - these people think it's the "General Series 6000" public library:

https://www.reddit.com/r/everquest/c..._animal_makes/

Good luck!
