Default How does Arrow damage work?

As far as I can tell arrow damage is between 1 and 5. Does it really just add 1-5 damage to the bow? If so is there ever a reason to use the higher damage arrows? They cost more to make.

Yep, just adds damage. The cost per arrow really gets expensive. Realistically at like 60 skill you can trivially make the 1dmg/150 range ones for cheap pulling. Tolan’s Bracer makes 3dmg short range ones for bow rotting.

So basically just use the cheapest arrows until I get summon clicky? Is there any reason to level fetching then?

Yeah, make the cheapest ones for pulling, then get Tolan Bracer and forget Fletching. Basically.

Arrow damage basically replaces the general mainhand damage bonus additive used in melee attacks when it comes to calculating damage. Also your base damage in that calculation will not be doubled (like with melee) until you're 51+ and the target is stationary and not rooted.

My understanding is that Arrow damage adds to bow damage, and the total doesn't get the 2x multiplier most weapons get, so in a lot of ways its similar to adding 2.5 damage to a 2 hander in exchange for costing money. I'm pretty sure it gets multiplied out at higher levels just like the base bow damage through Trueshot, stationary double damage and the normal ATK/STR damage multiplier.

If you're DPSing with Trueshot on a raid mob, I believe its a 15% damage increase with an exquisite velium bow for an extra ~1000 damage over the 2 minute window, and the hundred plat is just a negligible raid expense. Outside of that, its doubtfully worth the cash.

Its more like... 60pp per trueshot. Each arrow combine = 10 arrows. And it does make a huge difference in the damage

I only get 5 per combine. Does this go up as fletching improves or something?

Its determined by recipe.

Some recipes, I think the silver arrow ones, produce 10 arrows per combine.

Curious about archery crits:

For a crit, you will see two entries:

ex:
critical hit for (145)
hit for 156

Are these two values added together, or does this represent something else?

Ive gotten 800 dmg hits with average hits being anywhere from 200-300 per arrow
These of course are with 8 dmg arrows, AoW bow, and trueshot.
